What does it mean when the doctor is board-eligible or board-certified?

After an individual has completed four years of advanced training in all aspects of his or her specialty, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology certifies the graduate as board-eligible. To become board-certified, a physician must pass a comprehensive written exam after his or her final year in residency. After two years in practice, he or she must complete an oral exam before a national examining board. An OBGYN must get recertified every ten years.

What is Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery?

Major gynecologic surgery, such as a hysterectomy, through small incisions.  The advantages include, faster recovery, less pain, less complications and less blood loss.  This is accomplished using the latest technologies and techniques such as Robotics and advanced laparoscopy.

How long will it take my doctor to call me back if I call during office hours?

Except in the case of an emergency, your doctor will typically return your call after office hours.
